Ottawa Irish u18 vs Outaouais u18

The boys played a tough game against Outaouais. Outaouais was able to score two tries in the first half making it 12 - 0. But the Irish played hard and had several good looks but could not finish. #13 Greg Power (Colonel By) nearly scored in the corner but knocked the ball on.

Once the second half began, the Irish looked like a different team. The forwards began to run with the ball in hand and quick ball was sent out by #9 Ben Guibord (Rockland District) to #10 Jared Healey (Sir Will). With quick ball to the Out-Side Center Greg Power (Colonel By) was able to break through the line and get the first try of the game for the Irish.

Near the end of the match Captain #15 Brent Lamoath (Rockland District) kicked the ball over the defence and then Inside Centre Ryan Chapman (Rockland District) was able to catch the ball and power his way through several Outaouais players to score his first try in the Green and Gold jersey.

Unfortunately the Junior Boys were unable to get the Win but the Juniors improved immensely from the previous game. The Juniors dominated the 2nd half and didn't allow a score the entire time. The final score was Outaouais 12 - Ottawa Irish 10.

Ottawa Irish u18 vs Cornwall u19

After a close loss to Outaouais the Junior Boys were hungry for a win. The game against Cornwall was moved to the front pitch of Twin Elm. This would be the first time any of these Junior Boys have ever played on the front pitch.

In the first 5 minutes the Ottawa Irish were able to score in the far corner off a back row play with #8 Kyle Ryan (Gloucester) dishing a pass to #9 Scott Smith (Gloucester )who linked up with #14 Brent Lamoath (Rockland District) who beat his opposite winger and scored at try in the corner.

The momentum carried on with strong tackling from #7 Stephen Bentley (Colonel By) and the Gloucester Highschool contingent of Kyle and Scott. The forwards dominated the Cornwall pack who were larger. Both Props #1 Joel Charron (Garneau) and #3 Evan Bradshaw (Colonel By) dominated their opposite numbers. With clean and quick ball stand off #10 Jared Healey (Sir Will) was able to set up #13 Greg Power with a magnificent try with Powers hitting the gap at pace.

The Ottawa Irish Continued their dominance with another try by Captain #14 Brent Lamoath and #10 Jared Healey.

Cornwall Crusadors were able to put two tries away in a last minute effort. The Ottawa Irish Juniors beat Cornwall Crusadors 24 to 10.

After the game Assistant Coach Chris Seyler had a few words to say. " The boys had a long day today with two game but I'm proud of them. They played hard against a older, larger team and came out victorious. Strong runs from the u16 Centers Greg Power and Ryan Chapman really helped us break through the line but everyone played amazing. The boys stole almost all the line-outs and most scrums. The backs ran the ball and passed it out side and we were able to score 4 tries in the backline. But now its time to go practice and turn it up for the next game."
