The Ottawa Irish Women have been competing in senior women's rugby since 1995, and junior girls rugby since 2003. Our club currently has two senior women's and one junior team. The Irish Women's First XV compete within the EORU (Eastern Ontario Rugby Union) and FRQ (Federation de Rugby de Quebec), as well as Provincial Club playoffs where they cross-over with the top teams from the OWL (Ontario Women's League).The Irish Women's Second XV compete within the EORU Division 1 (formerly called the Russell League). The Irish U-19 team play in the EORU Russell League. (formerly EORU U-19 League) Our Summer Leagues run from May until September and we also compete in a recreational Fall League which starts in September and finishes in November. Our Club has proven that we are the most competitive in the region - we have competed in the finals of all leagues since 1995, and look forward to building a strong future, but mostly - a love of the game for all participants. We practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from May until September at Colonel By High School. (on Ogilvie near Montreal Rd.) Games are held on Saturdays and home games are played at Twin Elm Rugby Park. Pre-season training is underway - details are on the home page.
